International Relations

Study international relations

Would you like to work as a foreign affairs professional in an international organisation, for example, a trade organisation, or within the government? Then it is important that you know something about other cultures and that you understand and can think critically about the different aspects of international issues. You should also be able to negotiate well and present and defend your standpoints.

You will gain this knowledge and these skills during the International Relations minor. If you choose to take the second part of the minor too, then you will attend meetings of ASEAN, the South-East Asian intergovernmental organisation, as a representative of one of the member states.

  • Explore international security, organizations, laws, politics, diplomacy, economics and business cultures, based on real-life cases.
  • Gain practical experience by working with a social organisation.
  • Learn to hold discussions and express your opinion in weekly debates and an online blog.
  • Receive lessons in Chinese culture and Mandarin, the most spoken language in the world.

The minor consists of two parts each worth 15 ECTS credits and is offered in English in Thailand. You can take both parts or just the first one. The course concludes with a portfolio of your own development and a final report.
