Daan van Rooijen earned a degree in Industrial Design and Engineering from Delft University of Technology and is currently an Associate Lecturer in Biocomposites at StendenPRE (Stenden University’s Polymore Research and Education expertise centre), the Applied Polymer Innovations Institute and Emmtec Services (NUON). In addition, he also works for KIEM Innovations, a company engaged in the development of sustainable products and production processes for biocomposites. He joined the Sustainable Innovation in the Regional Knowledge Economy Department in 2013, where he is researching technical solutions for innovations in tourism and healthcare. He has been involved in the development of the Mensenpark, an attraction for locals and tourists alike in Emmen’s town centre, which is located on the current zoo site.
