“I used to find it difficult to make my voice heard. Now I feel confident enough to do so.”

Alumna bachelor Hospitality Management

“I am Barbara, originally from Hungary. In 2024, I graduated from the Hotel Management School at NHL Stenden as valedictorian, the top student of my year. During my studies, I developed academically while also actively contributing to projects, competitions and extracurricular activities focused on collaboration, communication, and professional presentation."

"Barcelona became my next step. After graduating, I decided to pursue the city I had long dreamed of and start shaping my own path there. Without a fixed plan, I began a Master’s in Human Resources & Talent Management, driven by my interest in human behaviour, talent development and what motivates people.

In my current role in HR and Recruitment at an international organisation, my background in hospitality and passion for people come together. I speak daily with candidates and colleagues, focusing on recognising potential and connecting people with the right opportunities.

My time at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences has strongly shaped my business acumen and professional development. As a student assistant and host coordinator, I organised the Study Start Week for nearly 600 students with my team, a project that required six months of preparation and coordination. Presentations, design challenges, and practical projects strengthened my communication skills. Where I once found it challenging to speak up, I have grown into someone confident in conversations, presentations, and professional interaction: something I now use every day in my work.”
