Get to know the finalists!

On Thursday, November 28, the finals of the Hayo Apotheker Incentive Fund 2024 took place. Victoria Virkus with her company Uji Machine walked away with the first prize.

 

Three students from NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences will present their startup during the finals and have a chance to win the title and an investment of up to €2,500. The finalists further developed their business ideas within the Center for Entrepreneurship (CfE), where they received support in their entrepreneurial process.   • Victoria Virkus - Uji Machine: Uji Machine is a device for preparing the perfect matcha, rich in antioxidants and conducive to digestive and skin health. 

  • Raghu Gunasekaran - Nora (Find Your Trigger): Nora is an app that helps users monitor diet and psoriasis symptoms and offers personalized nutritional advice via machine learning. 

  • Richtsje de Boer - Adriana: Adriana is a brand focused on developing and selling natural cosmetics. 

Center for Entrepreneurship  

In addition to their studies, these finalists are also part of the Center for Entrepreneurship (CfE). The CfE is the community for and by entrepreneurial students. In the community, students are not only helped to find answers to their entrepreneurial questions, but can also follow inspiring workshops by professionals from the field. In this multidisciplinary (working) place, students can grow further in entrepreneurship and expand their business.

Victoria Virkus

Uji Machine is a device, developed by Victoria Virkus, designed to prepare the perfect matcha. It ensures the right temperature and texture, so you can always enjoy a healthy and tasty cup of matcha. Matcha is known for its rich antioxidants and health benefits, such as promoting digestion and supporting skin health. With Uji Machine, Victoria hopes to provide a simple and consistent way to incorporate this healthy beverage into your routine daily. 

Victoria won the first prize.

Raghu Gunasekaran
Nora (Find Your Trigger)

Raghu Gunasekaran

Raghu Gunasekaran has developed an app with Nora that can improve the lives of people with psoriasis. Nora helps users monitor their diet and symptoms by entering their diet and flare-up data daily. Using machine learning, the app analyzes patterns in this data and offers personalized advice to better manage the condition. Raghu strongly believes in the power of technology to improve health, and with Nora he hopes to make a concrete contribution to the well-being of people with chronic skin conditions.

Adriana

Richtsje de Boer

Richtsje de Boer has developed a brand with Adriana that focuses on the production and sale of natural cosmetics. Adriana's products are carefully formulated with natural ingredients, and are designed to care for the skin in a gentle but effective way. The brand was born out of Richtsje's belief that skin care should not only be effective, but also sustainable. Her first product was developed specifically to relieve eczema and dry skin, but Richtsje has ambitious plans to expand the range to address a variety of skin needs.
