NHL Stenden’s main campus is located in Leeuwarden and offers a wide range of Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees. The campus provides access to modern facilities such as study landscapes, computer labs, Wi-Fi, a library, a gym, various cafés and eateries and an employment agency. Our very own Notiz Hotel and Wannee Restaurant, run by students from Hotel Management School Leeuwarden, are also located on the Leeuwarden campus.
And just to add to all the fun, Leeuwarden is also rated one of EDUopinions’ Top 10 Hidden Gem Student Cities in Europe. Based on student reviews, the conclusion is that Leeuwarden is charming, compact and homely, and delivers something truly special.

Directions and getting here
The campus is within walking and cycling distance of Leeuwarden city centre and is easily accessible by public transport and bicycle.
Train
Travelling to Leeuwarden by train? You can travel regionally with Arriva. Check the Arriva journey planner for timetables and routes. For national train services, use the NS journey planner.
Don't have a student travel pass? Apply for the free Voordeel Noord travel product. You start building up travel discounts once you spend €10 per month on travel.
Bus
You can use the following Qbuzz bus services to travel to and from NHL Stenden in Leeuwarden:
- From the railway station, take bus 6, 62 or 72. Bus 6 runs every 30 minutes. Buses 62 and 72 run hourly.
- Bus 62 runs hourly and provides a direct connection to NHL Stenden from places including Kollum, De Westereen and Feanwâlden.
- Bus 72 runs hourly and provides a direct connection to NHL Stenden from places including Sint-Annaparochie and Stiens.
- If you're travelling from Burgum, you can take bus 21. From Dokkum, you can take bus 51 or Qliner 355. These services also stop at Anemoonstraat, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from NHL Stenden.

Bicycle
Coming by bike? You can park it in one of our bicycle parking facilities. If you're using an OV-fiets rental bike on an Arriva route, find out more at Arriva.
Car
There are three car parks available. At car parks R8 and R10, you can pay using Stadsparkeren or your debit card. Both car parks are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For visitors, employees and students without an NHL Stenden Stadsparkeren subscription, parking costs €1 for the first two hours, followed by an additional €2.50 for the rest of the day. NHL Stenden employees and students who use Stadsparkeren with an NHL Stenden subscription pay a maximum of €2 per 24 hours. Parking is free in our car parks during Open Days. You can also park for free at the climbing centre.
