This minor is flexible, and students will have the opportunity to create their own learning programme together with the guidance of the Minor Coordinator by selecting from the suggested list of courses (see the list of courses below). Students who choose this minor will join some of the courses of the regular European Studies programme, which is fully taught in English and offered by an international team of lecturers. The programme is open to both Dutch and International students. Therefore, exchange students will have the chance to meet other international students who decided to study in the Netherlands, as well as to learn more about the Dutch culture by being in contact with Dutch students.
Minor content
All Project and knowledge courses of this minor (see the list of courses below) are connected to one of the six learning outcomes of European Studies: Europe’s historic and economic challenges, EU policy and law, Connecting cultures, Research, Languages and communication skills and Personal Leadership. Students will be asked to work and/or to develop their collaboration skills as well as their individual time-management skills. They will complete individual and group assignments and researches which are following the DBE (Design Based Education) educational concept.
European Studies has the ambition to offer a complete overview of different work fields of the public sector of (European) governance, law and policy. Together with the Minor Coordinator, the students will create their own learning programme. The Minor Coordinator will give the students a detailed brochure of the content of all Project and Knowledge courses and will give them a personal advice based on their personal and professional interests, the scheduling limitations and what they already know from their regular study.
