This asks for new professionals in the sector that both have knowledge about the industry as well asthe ability to innovatively deal with the constant changes in the sector.
In the minor Music Management,you will be given the opportunity to work on innovative projects for the European music industries. Whether this is from your own ambitions to start your own company or work for an organization in the music industry. You will be coached by industry professionals to kickstart your career in music.
The minor Music Management is a full semester minor of 30EC. You will work alone or in teams up to five students on a wide variety of cases. During the semester your classes will be in Ateliers, Coach meetings and expert meetings. Some cases you can think of could be:
As we will work on real-life cases, you will be coached in finding solutions for the music industry, by industry professionals. You will pitch and reiterate your solutions to industry professionals and eventually come up with a substantiated prototype for a new product, service, business model or market approach for the industry. The learning outcomes of this minor are focused around this concept as well as it is around self-learning.In the minor we focus around the following learning outcomes:
You will be assessed but how you will achieve these learning outcomes is up to you. By choosing the right deliverables to demonstrate that you have sufficient knowledge, skills and attitude towards achieving the learning outcomes you can pass this minor. Take into account that when choosing this minor, this assessing might be different from your usual experience regarding assessment.
Assessment in this minor is done on your ability to self-study, manage and the knowledge, skills and attitude that you gain from this. You will be guided in this process and at the end of the minor you will get your EC’s based on the number of Learning outcomes you have passed. Assessment will be done in an interview with you, you coach and one external assessor.
Students need to have a background in management studies and a clear preference to a career in the music industry if they enroll in this minor. If you are currently studying something different than management studies, it is recommended not to enroll for this minor. This minor is developed for students with a media or other creative industries management background.
Having experience in design-based education will help you a lot in this minor. If you do not have experience with design thinking we highly recommend that you study on this methodology as well. We will start with a minimum of 15 students. As of this moment we do not have additional costs, but keep in mind that there might be additional costs up to 150 euros for this minor.
