Signing of declaration of intent for Education Agreement Fryslân

Monday 13 March 2023 the declaration of intent in preparation for the Education Agreement Fryslân has been signed. With this declaration of intent, five Frisian knowledge institutions (NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, Firda, Aeres, Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, University of Groningen) and the province of Fryslân agree to reach an education agreement Fryslân without delay.

The education agreement will define how the partners can strengthen the Frisian economy and how Fryslân can lead the way in circularity, inclusiveness and innovation.

What is going to happen?

The various partners will cooperate structurally and want to achieve concrete results. They will jointly focus on the sectors that form the very basis of Fryslân. The educational institutions, together and with other parties in society, aim to work on fast and high-performance educational programmes and gaining a great deal of practical experience. This will enable students to be better prepared for the job market.

Through the education agreement, the institutions of secondary vocational education, higher vocational education and academic education in Fryslân will position themselves as solid partners in developing this province as a powerful, innovative region where it is good to learn, work and live.
