Jeroen Pijpker has a broad interest in Cyber Security (both software and hardware). At the Maritime IT Security research group, he is working on, among other things, the realization of a so-called maritime Honeynet to lure hackers into a trap and gain more insight into where they come from and what their interests are.

During his work as a lecturer for the Information Technology programme, he completed a master's degree at the Open University in Business Process Management and IT. For his thesis, he researched how Internet Service Providers can combat botnets.

Within the Maritime IT Security research group, he is currently working on various research issues and supervising student research groups.
