First as an English teacher, and later as coordinator of management skills in the Creative Business program at NHL Stenden University. At the Organisations and Social Media professorship, he contributes by setting up challenging and innovative (research) projects in the field of online media together with students.

“It is our task to deepen knowledge and insights, to make them understandable and to share them.”

Projects

Social media in your life

The NHL Stenden program Creative Business & Communication, the Piter Jelles Leeuwarder Lyceum, the research group Organisations & Social Media, Van Hall Larenstein, the online youth platform 'Suksawat', and the VO-HO affiliation network Fryslân have explored the possibilities of developing a sustainable social media in their lives.

This KIEM project explored the possibilities for developing a sustainable cooperation between secondary education (VO) and higher education (HO) in the field of 21st century skills/media wisdom.

The aim of the project was to develop and carry out a pilot on social media-related topics such as fake news, privacy, the role of digital influencers (such as vloggers) and social media-based business models.

European Influencers Academy

The European Influencers Academy is an initiative that focuses on researching responsible influencing. By organising so-called Swipe Up weeks, 10 European influencers come together in Leeuwarden. During these weeks, influencers follow a program of masterclasses, discussions and research around the theme of responsible influencing. By engaging in dialogue and working together with influencers, students, teachers and external organisations, we get to know different perspectives.
