The theoretical part of the course will cover:

- Regulations and Standards
- Vessel Characteristics
- Manoeuvering in Ice
- Voyage Planning and Reporting
- Icebreaker Assistance
- Vessel Performance in Polar Waters/Low Air Temperature
- Crew Preparation, Working Conditions & Safety
- Pollution Prevention in Polar Waters
Practical
The lectures will take place in a classroom and will include practical examples. In addition, simulation training is incorporated in the course. The simulator exercises create situations that provide an opportunity to acquire the required skills as specified in the regulations.
