Once you’ve decided what minor subject you want to take, it’s time to apply. When you apply to NHL Stenden, part of the application process involves your home university nominating you using our online form. After nomination, you:
- Receive confirmation of your nomination
- Will be enrolled in our systems
- Will receive a welcome email with the application dates and the information regarding the Dutch language course.
- Will receive the information about the application procedure and can select the courses of your choice in our iGo Portal during the application period.

Nomination procedure: your home university has to nominate you via our online form. Students may not fill out this form.
Semester dates Spring semester (25-26)
Introduction week (mandatory): 28 January 2026 - 30 January 2026
Start Classes: 2 February 2026 - 10 July 2026 (including 3 test weeks)
Semester dates Autumn semester (26-27)
Introduction week (mandatory) 26 August - 28 August 2026
Start Classes: 31 Augustus 2026 - 29 January 2026 (including 2 test weeks)
Semester dates Spring semester (26-27)
Introduction week (mandatory): 27 January 2027 - 29 January 2027
Start Classes: 1 February 2027 - 9 July 2027 (including 3 test weeks)
Learning agreement
If you are required to submit a Learning Agreement to your home university, you can fill in your details using the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) tool: https://learning-agreement.eu/. Once you and your home university have both signed the OLA, we will submit the final signature. If your home university does not yet work with the OLA tool, you can email your Learning Agreement as a PDF to [email protected]. Please name the courses in your OLA/LA as described in the course catalogue.
