International Teacher Education for Primary Schools (ITEPS)

Future career after completing the International Teacher Education for Primary Schools (ITEPS)

With a bachelor’s degree in International Teacher Education for Primary Schools (ITEPS), you will be trained to teach at privately funded international schools or pursue a wide range of careers in international education. Whichever path you take, you will be able to apply your professional skills and knowledge to support children and young people of varying ages, nationalities, cultures and talents. Your degree is also a highly valued qualification if you decide to work in another field beyond education.

It is important to note that there is no such thing as a single international teaching licence. About 12,500 of the over 13,000 international schools worldwide are privately funded, and our graduates are well prepared to work in these schools. To teach at publicly funded international schools (for example, in the Netherlands and Germany), a national teaching qualification is requiredThis could be the situation in your home country; however it is dependent on a country's specific national regulations.

For ITEPS graduates, it is possible to follow a one-year programme at NHLStenden after your diploma to obtain a Dutch teaching qualification for primary schools. Please note that this requires a proficient level of Dutch.
