Dual degree bachelor’s programme Logistics Management and International Business
Do you like taking on more of a challenge? In Emmen, you can combine the International Business bachelor’s programme with the bachelor's in Logistics Management. This means you can earn two bachelor’s degree in just 4.5 years by studying both programmes simultaneously.
What to expect?
You'll develop a unique combination of skills by building on more than just your business instinct. You'll not only understand the world of business but also know how to optimize logistical processes through innovation. You'll do this efficiently and with a strong focus on sustainable operations. You'll know how to close an international deal and you understand the logistical details involved in delivering excellent customer experience. All in all, you'll have a unique set of competencies that will enables you to help a company with their international growth.
The courses are aligned for the first and second year of both programmes. In addition to the overlapping subjects, you can follow courses that are specifically focused on either International Business or Logistics Management.
In the third year, you do an internship, as you would in any other bachelor’s programme. During this internship, you carry out research that combines both fields of study. In your graduation phase, however, you’ll do one graduation assignment per bachelor’s degree, which means it will take you 4.5 years to successfully complete both bachelor’s degrees.
Study load
You can expect to spend approximately 10 additional study hours per week on this dual degree. You also should bear in mind that you'll need more self-discipline in order to obtain both degrees. From the start of your studies, you will be assigned a study coach who will help you navigate your way through your studies so that you are able to succesfully complete both programmes.

The programme for this dual degree
In your first and second year, most classes are combined. That way, you will be able to follow all the necessary classes for both the programmes. You follow combined classes such as:
Finance
Management & Organisation
Supply Chain Management
In addition to these courses, you'll follow specific courses. For the International Business programme these include Marketing & Sales and Strategic Management. For Logistics Management it’s about Business Law & Warehouse & Distribution.
You apply what you learn straight away, working in teams with your peers on projects based on real-life business challenges.
In the first semester, you delve into strategic topics from the Logistics Management programme or International Business programme. You decide which one to focus on first.
In the second semester, you start your internship. You'll carry out one internship assignment that applies to both degrees. This is where you bring everything together in practice. You'll work for an international company, either in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the world.
In the first semester, you study the strategic topic from your other bachelor’s programme. This means you will have studied both fields in depth.
After that, you start your graduation phase, choosing which programme you want to complete your first graduation project for. Once you have successfully finished your first project, you move on to your second graduation project.
In total, it takes 4.5 years to complete both bachelor’s degrees.
If you want to complete your dual degree within 4.5 years, there is no room in the programme for a minor abroad or a Grand Tour.
Of course, you can choose to spend part of your studies abroad. Just keep in mind that your studies will then take longer to complete.

Step 3: After you have applied for both bachelor’s programmes, you will receive a confirmation and, if applicable, proof of admission from our Central Student Administration.
Tuition fees

You apply to both study programmes and pay the regular tuition fees as if you were following just one programme. Tuition fees are annual, so you'll need to pay them each academic year.
Non-EU students
Non-EU students pay double the institutional tuition fee for this dual programme (see the current tuition fee rates on this page). Tuition fees are annual, so you'll need to pay them each academic year.
