What Logistics Management offers

Today’s supply chains are still mainly based on developing products that are destroyed after use. It’s a system that drains on our natural resources such as materials, water, energy and land. And yet we want economies to be able to grow. Many companies are therefore moving towards a circular economy so that few raw materials are needed for the production and distribution of products. Products are now being developed that not only have a longer life span but can also be easily recycled. Sustainably is therefore the focus throughout the logistics management programme and, in your third year, you can specialize in the area by following the minor Circular Entrepreneurship.

When you graduate, you’ll not only have a bachelor’s degree but will also be specialised in Green Logistics. This specialisation demonstrates your knowledge of supply chain management in the circular economy. In addition, in your second year, you’ll work on attaining your Green Belt certification for change processes. Both specialisation are guaranteed to give you a headstart in your career.

Logistics Management in practice

You work on assignments from real companies in each year of the course, collaborating in small groups and drawing on the skills and experience of lecturers and professionals in (international) logistics management. This method of working (Design-Based Education) means you learn to draw on feedback to adapt your ideas and become more flexible, while also developing your teamwork and leadership skills. Right from year one, you’ll be looking into the different aspects of the supply chain so that you have a clear understanding of how the processes are linked. For instance, when you place an order through a website, the whole chain gets activated. The company you ordered the product from has already bought the product and, fortunately for you, has a good stock available. But then the product needs to be packaged and prepared for shipping. Of course, you want to receive your order as quickly as possible so the company needs to ensure you get the package the next day. They arrange a courier who then takes the package to your door. During this degree, you learn how this whole process is connected, from raw material to delivery, so that the logistics run smoothly.
