In the third-year minor 'Criminal Mindhunters: Criminology in Practice,' we ask ourselves: why do people commit crimes? Why do people take the law into their own hands? What makes young people join criminal groups?
Have you ever asked yourself these questions? Or do they pique your interest? Then this minor is exactly what you're looking for!

Minor content

We address criminological issues with insights from modern criminology and professionals from the field. We focus on practical applications and current events; for example, how can riots in football matches be explained? What can authorities do to prevent the riots? How can judicial errors be prevented? How can forensic evidence be used? What can be done against organized crime? What kind of influence has the geopolitical tenson on crime in The Netherlands?
In collaboration with professionals from the field, we examine these and other themes in criminology and look for practical interventions. Our focus is always on practical applications and future issues.

This minor is offered by the Safety and Security Management programme.
