Experiencing a lack of safety can have a major impact on people’s personal lives and on their performance. Find out how we at NHL Stenden are committed to SDG 16 below.
At NHL Stenden, we are committed to safety. We want everyone at our locations to be able to feel safe and take various steps to ensure this is the case, for example, by providing security on our campuses and maintaining an active emergency response organisation through training, education and practice.
Unfortunately, safety and security cannot be taken for granted everywhere in the world or in Europe. The degree of safety people experience differs per country and can have a major impact on people’s welfare and well-being. We tend to look abroad when considering this issue, such as at Qatar and China, however ‘human rights are equally under pressure in the Netherlands.’
Safety in teaching and research
Safety is a critical asset within the operational management of our institution. Safety and security, or the lack thereof, are also issue that feature in our teaching and research.
