SDG 13 focuses on tackling climate crisis caused by humans. At NHL Stenden we contribute to tackling this issue.
Together we must protect our planet against the effects of climate change and at NHL Stenden we are happy assume our responsibilities in this regard. Our Green Wave movement is at the vanguard of the battle and represents an initiative of members of staff, lecturers and students who want to contribute to a sustainable world and university together.
In the Paris Climate Agreement, the European Union committed to being climate neutral by 2050. This is target that we are happy to contribute to, whether through big or smaller actions. For example, the roofs of our buildings are mounted with solar panels, we are committed to tackling waste in the form of cigarette butts and we monitor our energy consumption at our locations.
Climate action in teaching and research
Climate action, however, is not only reflected in our business operations. It makes perfect sense that a major and global issue such as this should also be reflected in our teaching and research.
