SDG 14 Life below water

Within our teaching and research, as well as within the walls of our institution, we make an active contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals. In this way, we make collective effort towards fostering a sustainable environment alongside students, members of staff and partners. Want to find out more? Find out how we contribute to each SDG in different ways below.

‘Plastic soup’ is a term that is frequently used in relation to climate change and by now everyone is familiar with what it mean: the streams of plastic litter in our seas and oceans. Plastic doesn’t belong in our water and solutions are desperately needed, such as recycling and less consumption of plastic. In our NHL Stenden canteens we do our bit and we have gone entirely plastic free.

Teaching & Research

Healthy and liveable seas and oceans are critical to the world around us and we all have to (continue to) work hard(er) to achieve that goal. It’s a challenge that we at NHL Stenden are keen to take on, which is why the issue of ‘Life below water’ feature prominently in our education and research.
