Before she joined higher education in Leeuwarden, Jacqueline Rietveld worked as a test psychologist at career consultancies in Amsterdam and Hoorn. Subsequently, she headed a selection and career assessment consultancy for personnel, in the ‘Institute for Service Management’ and she has been involved in admission assessments of study programmes in higher education for many years.

In the HRM study programme, she worked partially as a lecturer and partially as research lecturer. This combination will benefit the many practice-orientated studies in the area of human capital the professorship conducts for companies and organisations in the region. The starting point of these studies is to continually give people in the workplace a voice, so that their jobs can be reviewed and updated.
