The master's degrees are generally one-year programmes that help you develop your expertise further. You develop the knowledge you gained during your bachelor’s degree and explore a specific area in detail to become a professional specialist ready. As a master’s student at a university of applied sciences, you work closely with industry and will usually carry out research for a particular company or organisation, culminating in a thesis that presents your findings and draws conclusions supported by academic theory and practical insights.

A master’s degree at our university of applied sciences carries 60 credits and is equivalent to an EQF level 7/NLQF level 7. A master’s degree at a research university carries the same credits and is also equivalent to an EQF level 7, however, bachelor graduates from a university of applied sciences will need to do a pre-master's programme before they can start a research master’s. The pre-master's programme usually takes one academic year to complete and aims to give students the theoretical knowledge and academic skills needed for a research master’s programme.
