The master Content & Media Strategy at NHL Stenden has been developed in close collaboration with the industry so you get to work on assignments that are real. Through our educational concept, Design-Based Education (DBE), you work in small teams of students, lecturers, researchers and industry professionals on issues, developing and adapting your visions and ideas to form a solid solution. And your individual research will result in an analytical reflection report and content media strategy that demonstrates your skills at master's level.
The one-year master's programme in Content and Media Strategy introduces you to key concepts related to media content strategy and content marketing. The programme is structured around three building blocks that represent the content and media strategy development cycle:
- Content Strategy
- Content Creation
- Content Implementation
Great variety
The year is structured into two semesters. You work in an atelier, and participate in workshops, instructions or presentations. During the course weeks, you attend classes given in a variety of ways, including seminars, workshops, lectures, presentations, group assignments and guest lectures. After the course weeks, you will have a sprint period of one week in which you will be able to work individually on the products you will present in your graduation portfolio that demonstrate your master’s level at the end of the year.
Start and finish
During the start-up weeks, you will get acquainted with all aspects of the programme and you will need to secure an organization for which you will develop a content and media strategy in the building blocks Content Strategy, Content Creation and Content Implementation. The programme ends with a round-off period in which you enhance and finalize your analytical reflection report and prepare for your defence. Supervision meetings are planned during this period. The final presentation and defence is scheduled when you have completed the content and media strategy and your analytical reflection report.
Research, evaluation and personal development
Evaluation and research are an integral component of every aspect of a content and media strategy and is therefore integrated within the building blocks. You will work thematically on real-life cases throughout the courses. To demonstrate your master’s level, you will work individually on developing a content and media strategy for an organisation of your choice. You will also work on your personal development throughout the year with the support of a personal coach.
Experienced lecturers
Most of the programme is taught by a core team of lecturers who have also been highly involved with the development of the course. These lecturers have extensive experience in teaching bachelor and master’s programmes and have relevant work experience, as well as an up-to-date professional network. They will guide you in your development towards becoming a content and media strategist and help you gain new perspectives and insights. Your own input is essential too and we believe in co-creation so we can learn with and from each other
Content Strategy
