With a bachelor’s in International Teacher Education for Secondary Schools, you will be able to teach at international and bilingual secondary schools with learners in the age group of 11 to 16. You will be a knowledgeable, adaptive, creative and skillful teacher, capable of inspiring future generations. You could also choose from a range of careers in international education, applying your professional skills and knowledge to support children of different ages, nationalities, cultures and talents. You'll also find your degree is a highly valued commodity if you decide to work in a different field than education.

Career diversity 

As a teacher in an international environment, many of your learners have parents who work in a country for some year and then move on. Your classes often include a diversity of learners with different backgrounds and language levels. With your professional skills, you will be a confident teacher to all kinds of learners. With your help, they will acquire the necessary subject knowledge and develop into eager, social and balanced individuals.  

The ITESS diploma does not include a Dutch teaching licence. To obtain a teaching licence for the Netherlands, you need to complete an additional programme. The duration of this programme depends on situation and specialisation.
