Starts in

Are you curious about teaching and wondering whether there is a teacher in you? Exploring the Teacher in You invites you to discover what the profession of teaching could mean for you. Whether you are completely new to education or already enrolled in a teacher education programme (anywhere in the world), this minor offers space to explore, deepen and broaden your perspective. You will orient yourself towards both primary and secondary education, explore different educational contexts, and discover which environment and learner group suit you best. At the same time, you will gain insight into yourself as an educator within local as well as international settings.

Minor content

Exploring your potential as a teacher
This minor centres around exploring your role, strengths and interests as a (future) teacher. You engage with fundamental questions such as: What kind of teacher could I become? What educational context suits me? How do I position myself in relation to learners and learning? Students who are new to education explore the basics of the profession, while those already in teacher education deepen and broaden their existing perspective.

Learning in practice and in an international context
Throughout the minor, you connect theory, practice and your own developing vision of education. You will explore teaching in real educational settings and reflect on your experiences. Special attention is given to the international dimension of education, including intercultural perspectives and collaboration with international partners. This creates space to compare systems, approaches and professional identities across contexts.

Structure of the minor

The minor combines on-site learning days with practical experience in educational settings. During the weekly learning days, you participate in interactive sessions focused on exploring the teaching profession from multiple perspectives. There is room for dialogue and collaboration, creating a rich and diverse learning environment.

The programme has a clear international orientation and is developed in collaboration with schools and partners experienced in international education. Together, we examine education in both national and international contexts and reflect on how teaching connects across cultures.

We work according to the principles of Design Based Education (DBE), meaning that learning takes place through exploration, inquiry and the integration of theory, practice and personal vision. This approach supports you in shaping your own development as a (future) educator.
