Celebrating 15 years of the Research in Hospitality Management journal
For fifteen years, the academic journal Research in Hospitality Management has been setting the tone for research in the hospitality sector. With Volume 15(1), we're celebrating this milestone and looking ahead with a special themed issue: 'Transitions to the Future'.
Since 2010, this journal has provided a platform for fresh ideas and robust discussions across hospitality, tourism and leisure. Published by AIHR (the research institute of the Hotel Management School Leeuwarden), the journal has evolved over the years into a go-to resource for professionals in the field.
Its strength lies in its breadth. NHL Stenden colleagues from various disciplines have contributed their expertise. From the Academy of Leisure and Tourism to the research groups focusing on Sustainability in Hospitality and Tourism and Circular Plastics. International colleagues from NHL Stenden's global campuses and partner institutions have also shared valuable insights.
In this anniversary issue, Editor-in-Chief Dr. Rodney Westerlaken and former Editors-in-Chief Erwin Losekoot and Sjoerd Gehrels take you through the journal's history. You'll also find forward-looking articles on AI in hospitality education, dementia-friendly tourism and sustainable urban planning.
The mix of viewpoints, brief reports and research articles showcases what's current in the field. By connecting academic research with practical applications, we're helping move the sector forward.
We thank everyone who has contributed: authors, reviewers, editors and readers. Together, we'll continue developing knowledge and driving innovation in hospitality research.
