  • 2 days BHV workshop (Bedrijfshulpverlener = Company Response Team). An own contribution of €110 is required.
  • Option to achieve Certification in Hospitality Industry Analytics (related to revenue management). An exam fee of €69 is required.

Structure of the minor

This minor has a study load of 40 hours per week.

Learning Outcomes  

  • RD Reinforcement (6 ETC)          
    After completing this unit the student is able to identify and relate contemporary rooms division management theories with industry examples and to formulate an opinion. 
  • RD Innovations (6 ETC)              
    After completing this unit the students are able to construct and present a rooms division concept, and defend the choices made. 
  • RD Human resources (3 ETC)       
    After completing this unit the student is able to identify and relate contemporary human resource theories with an industry example and to formulate an opinion.   

The educational activities include: Case Based Learning sessions, (guest) lectures, hotel visits and workshops. 


  • The module assignment is developing a concept and plan for an industry partner in groups of 5 to 6 students. (6 EC) 
  • There is an HRM assignment which can be done in pairs, containing an interview and relate this to literature studied. This assignment can be combined with the CHIA certificate (Certification Hospitality Industry Analytics) (3 EC) 
  • There is an individual assignment Learner report. In this report a literature study is compared with industry examples. (6 EC) 


This minor is a hotel specific minor and therefore only accessible for Hotel Management Students. This minor contains several industry contacts via guest lectures and hotel visits (opportunities for networking), which  support the students in exploring internship possibilities. Due to the broad scope of topics discussed, students can find their direction of interest.  

For hotel visits, students are required to wear business attire.
