FAQ
The admission requirements for each course are given on the course page on the website. Go to the page of the study programme of your choice and check if you meet the admission requirements.
Non-EU/EEA students
You need to submit the results of an additional English language test to prove your English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in your studies. See the course page website for specific information.
EU/EEA students
If English was part of your final exam curriculum or you hold a European Baccalaureate Certificate, International Baccalaureate Diploma, have attained GCSE/A Levels, or your secondary school programme was taught in English, then you do not need to do an additional English language test.
Exceptions can be made for students who have had their preparatory education in a country where English is the only official educational language.
Our Central Student Administration office arranges your residence permit and/or entry visa for you. More information can be found here.
NHL Stenden has a number of housing partners but doesn’t own accommodation itself. Our housing partner in Emmen actually guarantees accommodation for our first-year international students and there really is enough choice for everyone. For more information go to our housing page.
In the north of the Netherlands, accommodation is easier to find and far more affordable than in other parts of the country. In fact, studies show you get more space for your money in the north.
We’re here to help you settle into your new student life in whatever way you need. From student counsellors to a personal study coach, from help with your application to a welcome package from our campus in Emmen.
