Winnaars 3e editie HAF

Merten Richter received the first prize at the second edition of NHL Stenden's Hayo Apotheker Incentive Fund on Thursday. The Creative Business student won the prize of 2,500 euros with MeLikey: an app that makes online shopping more sustainable and social. In the final battle were two more students, whose ventures also won prizes.

The Hayo Apotheker Incentive Fund is part of the Center for Entrepreneurship. The fund aims to put students' ideas and (future) ventures on an even sharper footing. It is organised twice a year. At this second edition, three students competed for the first prize of 2,500 euros: besides Merten, these were Floor Kremer with Good2Go and Rutger Klamer with E-powerment.

In the end, Merten was declared the winner. He was obviously very happy about that. What he will do with the money? "With the support of the Hayo Apotheker Incentive Fund, I can attend tech events and find developers willing to work with me to create the future of online shopping."

The jury about MeLikey: "The jury and the audience were very attracted to the idea, as it is very accessible. We also see ourselves using the app. In doing so, the app focuses on sustainability and making the current way of shopping more sustainable. This is something that fits with the Sustainable Development Goals | NHL Stenden and today's world. Overall, it is an innovative idea that appeals."

  1. Merten Richter (Creative Business in Leeuwarden) with MeLikey: design of revamped online shopping. Prize: 500 euros
  2. Floor Kremer (Ad Hotel Management in Emmen) with Good2Go: fully sustainable food trucks that can drive under their own power. Prize: 1,000 euros

The Hayo Apotheker Incentive Fund

In late 2021, the Hayo Apotheker Incentive Fund was announced to continue the name of the former supervisor within the school. The fund is organised and distributed twice a year. Fifty students can participate each time. They get to work on their own ideas or venture. The prize pool totalled 25,000 euros: from coins that could be earned along the way (at 12.50 euros) to the grand prize of 2,500 euros.

The Center for Entrepreneurship

The Hayo Apotheker Incentive Fund is organised by the Center for Entrepreneurship. The Center for Entrepreneurship was set up by NHL Stenden - with 'entrepreneurial' as one of its core values - to help (future) entrepreneurs, freelancers and zzp'ers move forward and make it possible to work on one's own business while studying.
