Elsevier's ‘Beste studies 2023’: nineteen bachelor programmes awarded medal
Nineteen bachelor's degree programmes of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences have been awarded a medal by Elsevier Weekblad (EW). The ‘EW Beste Studies 2023’ (Best Study Programmes 2023) survey is based on its own analysis of ratings from 289,000 students, taken from this year's National Student Survey (NSE). In total, four gold, five silver and ten bronze medals go to NHL Stenden.
Every year, EW publishes a ranking of the best study programmes in hbo (and this year also mbo). Four NHL Stenden programmes were awarded a gold medal: Accountancy, Chemistry (in collaboration with Van Hall Larenstein), Communications and Geography Teacher. What's special: it's already the third time in a row for these courses to win gold.
To qualify for a medal in Beste studies 2023, the course must score significantly better than other programmes within the sector in question, EW explained. Study programmes that excel in most areas receive a gold medal, "because students are highly satisfied with various aspects of their studies".
Beste studies 2023 is an independent survey by EW - in collaboration with ResearchNed - comparing over 2,300 bachelor's and master's degree programmes in hbo. It is intended as a tool for prospective students and high school students to help them make a study choice.
